1. Style your table around the type of food you are serving. For example, if you are "BBQing" or "Braii-ing", it is best to keep shorter centrepieces especially when sharing food as you do not want taller candles or flower vases falling over.
2. Choose brighter colours like cobalt blue or apricot orange so that the backyard sunlight bounces off your table setting.
3. Layer up on tablecloths and placemats to make your table feel cosy whilst still outdoors. Add a few pillows here and there on the grass or on the chairs and throw some blankets if it is cold. This way you will bring part of your home outside and make it feel warm.
